“Society grows when old men plant trees whose shade they
know they will never sit in.”
I’m told this is an ancient Greek proverb. Couldn’t say
definitively and it doesn’t matter where it came from. It’s my thought for the
day.
This is one of those times when it would do a disservice to
both the original quote and my readers if I was to try to improve on it.
